Climate and Waste
Much of my work concerns the treatment of space as territory – land divided up according to ownership claims. In a few paintings, I have gone further than considering the tensions that result from competing interests and imagined the ultimate outcomes of human domination.
Totes Meer by Paul Nash morphs a Second World War aircraft dump into an epic, rolling sea. In my reimagination of this surreal dystopia, the tidal surge of consumerism has reshaped the landscape.
